Sorry for the quietude… things are afoot and there are, again, changes taking place with our Alliance level of ‘organization’ and I’m, again, not entirely sure how this will all play out. Hopefully stuff should get resolved in the next day or so and then we’ll see how things look and what I can write about it.

Regardless of how things go on an Alliance level I’m in with my RL brother and the .FRAG crew for the long haul – I’ve been super fortunate to be welcomed into .FRAG and to meet these pilots they’re a solid, respectful, tight knit group who’ve got each others backs and truly enjoy playing EVE with one another – much fun is had with this crew, even when we’re getting wreck’d!

Unfortunately I was at work last night when it was all going down but it appears as though we’ve got our first big SOV defense on the go… we will now get to see how the CROWZ handle some pressure from a larger force and see if we can successfully defend our home… I’m hoping for a large, organized and disciplined turn out from the crew!

Let me start this off by stating clearly that I am just a lowly line member of our Corporation/Alliance and without a doubt don’t envy our Leadership in the least!

We, The CORVOS, are not a very large Alliance, I’d say we’re in the middling size of Alliances in New Eden but our Leadership has to deal with a full on metric shit-ton of stuff while managing the Alliance and keeping us all organized, productive, active and entertained.

One of their latest issues has been with them dealing with another Leader within the Alliance that was making decisions and working on Alliance plans without any counsel and wasn’t communicating transparently with them which obviously ended up causing some problems within our Alliance and with our Blues and in the end got he and his Corporation booted from The CORVOS. Initially the ousted Corporation was set to +5, for what was to be a seven day period, to allow them to move out any assets but then we found out the ousted Leader had been actively working to recruit others in attacking us, as well as actively trying to pay our Blues to attack us so… they have been reset completely and their members are now fair game!

Drama, drama, drama  – but also content, content, content 🙂

Being in an Corp/Alliance that is active and has members out creating and looking for content is a prize hard fought after in New Eden. Now I’m not saying we, The CORVOS, are always super active but it’s a rarity to not have double digits in our comms channel with people out on a roam, mining, exploring, moving assets, etc…

Take for example the other night… I wasn’t logged in for more than a few minutes and one of our members called out asking if anyone wanted to engage a group of site runners in a Wormhole. We were undocked and burning his way with a small Fleet just moments later. He came out to meet us, lead us down a short chain of wormholes and then we waited outside the one that he had saw them in while he went in to track them down again.

Our scout found the site runners pretty quickly and got initial tackle, we jumped in as soon as he called “Scram” and it was on… four kills – Stabber, Ishkur, Tengu and Thrasher was the score then we burned our way back home.

Good fun!

There’s a lot that goes in to moving a Corporation’s worth of equipment, ammo and ships and it was not something that I had put much thought into when we joined The CORVOS [CR0WZ] Alliance but have had to for the past few days as I’ve been getting some gear moved to their main staging system so that I can join in on some Alliance Ops and other activities with them.

The new FOB is a fair ways from our current ‘home base’ and moves me into a new Region of New Eden with different Rats, unfamiliar neighbours and unfamiliar Systems. I will spend some time over the next week or so getting acquainted with the area, the other Pilots and the Rats in the Region and see how things go with the new Alliance mates.

Fractured Glory joined the ranks of The CORVOS Alliance a few days ago just as their current Wardecs were ending, I think we had maybe 12 to 15 hours under two Wardecs but just as they were about to end our new Alliance got hit with a fresh one with Forsaken Asylum declaring War against us.

I did take a look back at the CR0WZ Wardec history on zKillboard and it looks like they don’t take too many stupid losses, although their recent war with Deadly Fingertips was not pretty and may be the reasoning behind our latest Wardec?

Wardecs are a definite hindrance to any High-sec activity and that really sucks as I had been having a lot of fun, and luck, with my latest obsession of rolling those High-sec Cosmic Anomalies. According to zKill Forsaken Asylum are pretty active in the Metropolis Region with Hek and Uttindar being #1 and #3 in their list of Top Systems for kills in the past week… guess it’s time to move out to some Low-sec/Null-sec activities for a bit and wait out this War.

Along with the switching of Alliances comes the introduction to new Alliance mates and with that there comes an adaptive period where you are learning each others play styles, favoured type of content, comms mannerisms and a host of other behavioral traits.

It’s only been a couple of days and I’m sure it’ll take a week or two to really get the gist of everything and how we’re all going to fit together but I got out on a Fleet with a few of the members the other day and a couple of things really stood out for me.

The first was Comms Discipline ~ While out on the Fleet there was lots of over-talking of the FC and scout, way to much chatter and no uniformity with nomenclature with orders which was making things very confusing. After the Fleet I sent a message to a couple of the Corp CEO’s stating such and provided a link to a solid write up on PvP comms protocol – Guide: PvP Voice Communications – and it’s looking like this will get sent out in an Alliance wide email which will hopefully get us all on the same page for PvP Fleet comms.

The second thing that stood out happened after the Fleet roam when a couple of Alliance members decided to go suicide ganking in High-Sec ~ I am all for content and realize that ganking is one way to get some easy content and for Alliances like CODE. that are organized for the practice of suicide ganking with designated bumpers, well managed fleets of gankers and other designated members to loot the wrecks it’s a way for them to make ISK.

Now this is definitely a personal thing coming from my own perceptions but I believe High-Sec suicide ganking degrades the character and standing of the Corporations and Alliances involved and will instead compound a reputation of incompetent notoriety. I think this is especially true when it’s just a couple of pilots going about it with no true organization in the effort.

I understand that it may be a lost cause but I’m of the opinion that if we want to build a reputation as a prominent Alliance and move towards gaining some level of respect and prestige that we will need to get our members to refrain from the practice of suicide ganking and have suggested such to our leadership – we’ll see how that goes…

It’s now official… Fractured Glory has joined The CORVOS [CR0WZ] Alliance and while I”m not exactly sure what this means for us I’m excited to see what the future holds.

I’ll be the first to admit that I wasn’t a fan of our previous Alliance name, ‘FØRCED ENTRY’, the connotations and undertones of the name left a bad taste for me. I have a personal affinity for Ravens/Crows and am positively content with our new alliance name ‘The CORVOS ‘. Will just have to wait and see how pleased I am with the direction we’re headed, the other pilots and our Alliance leadership.
