The Society of Conscious Thought’s Gnosis Class Battlecruiser will be the only Battlecruiser sized hull that the Alpha Clones can pilot and it will be the only viable hull they can use to possibly run some Level 4 missions with.

I believe it will become a high demand item for the Alpha Clone gang once they get their skills up but we will have to see what CCP does in regards to the availability of the Gnosis – it looks like every subscribed toon between now and November will be getting one so we could see a flood on the market but once that subsides they could become fairly scarce once the numbers get dwindled down.

I’ve been playing around with some fits for the Gnosis and see some decent PvE options for it. I’m most familiar with Projectile Weapons and Angel Space so the fit below, which is based off of Abbadon21’s Caldari Alpha Clone Mission Fit, is geared towards that and it’s a fit that I believe would make a solid Hi-Sec PvE/Exploration Vessel.

I’d take on Refuge and Dens, I think it could also run the High-Sec Ghost Sites so I would run this with a Mobile Depot in the hold and carry both a Data and a Relic Analyzer which would give you the option to run any Exploration sites you come across.

For the Unrated Complexes I’d go for the Lookout for sure and I’d give the Watch a try but would take it slow to test the waters.

The only DED site it can fit into that you’ll scan down in High-Sec is the 4/10 and I’m not completely sure about it’s ability to run that second room in the 4/10 DED site but it may be doable, another one to take slow and test the waters? The biggest issue with the Gnosis is its speed – she’s a turtle – so while many ships can blitz that second room in the 4/10 the Gnosis will be on field much longer and with 30+ rats engaging it may be too much? It is worth a test though 🙂

Vart Hitta II

I wrote a pretty detailed post with copy and paste of a forum post about Drone Data sites back in November – Vart Hitta – and since we’ve been under some Wardecs lately I’ve been spending a bit more time in and around the Drone Null-Sec regions exploring and last night received my first ever Drone Data Site escalation!

It was only five jumps away from where I got it so I burned there excitedly and dove right in – the escalation site was identical to a normal Drone Data Site containing 3 cans, two High Security Containment Facilities, and one Research and Development Lab. I hacked the Lab first and it came up empty but the first Containment Facility I hack contained two 60-Run Augmented BPC’s! One for Augmented Hammerheads the other was an Augmented Ogre BPC… SCORE!

Also came away with a handful of ‘Integrated’ Drone BPC’s of different variations.

Was a nice little run, will head back out again soon!

Logn Veiðr

Spent my EVE time yesterday hunting.

I started the session out in “Veiðimaðr”, scanned down and jumped into a Class 3 Wormhole. Spent some time cloaked up wandering around seeing if there was any activity, no joy, then scanned down and identified all the Cosmic Signatures in the System. Marked a few other Wormholes and found one Central Serpentis Survey Site. I decided to camp out for a bit so made a perch about 45km off all the hackable cans and waited… and waited… and waited…

I was in the C3 for just over an hour, I passed the time by browsing with the IGB and would hit D-Scan every so often to see if there were any Probes in system. Eventually I got bored so tore back home, re-shipped into my Cheetah then went back in and hacked the site. Will have to try that hunting tactic another time.

After that uneventful hunt I thought I’d try my first go with the 20 frigate plan so activated “Banahǫgg Spá I” and went for a long roam through some Low-Sec Systems – again no joy.

I was passing through Hek on the way back to my Low-Sec staging home so thought I’d see if the icebelt in Nakugard was getting any activity so re-shipped again into “Naglfar – RAGE™” and headed that way. There were a few miners there, none in any really soft targets but there were a couple of Retrievers working the ice. I set up a little bit below them so I was within range of my launchers and started the waiting game again. D-Scan was showing a Thrasher and a Catalyst in system so I didn’t think it would be too long before someone got the Ganking itch and I was correct. It was maybe a ten minute wait before Mr.Kryz Keedra arrived at the icebelt in his Catalyst and started approaching Josie Peppers’ Retriever. After he fired and got his Criminal flag I de-cloaked, locked him up, hit him with both ‘Hypnos’ Ion Field ECM I’s to disrupt his targeting and then assigned all my weapons – his Cat went down quickly and there was no miner losses. He logged quickly after this engagement, I don’t think he was expecting anything like that!

Had a few good exploration finds over the weekend…

Scanned down and jumped into a Class 2 Wormhole from the home system. I always get a little rush jumping into the unknown of W-Space, you just never know what you’re going to find and this one was untouched. When I’m hunting/exploring in W-Space I make it a point to at least identify all the Cosmic Signatures in the System I’m working and this C-2 had a ton! There had to have been at least twenty Signatures to scan down and I can’t remember what they all were but I did pinpoint ten hackable exploration sites, six Relic and four Data.

I had jumped in flying the Hunting Hound hoping I might find something to shoot but no joy – it was a small System and all I could see on the D-Scan were some Control Towers, there was not one ship in system. The first thing I do anytime I jump into a Wormhole is bookmark my exit and after scanning down all the Sigs and bookmarking all the hackable sites I warped back to it, jumped out, re-shipped into my Cheetah and headed back in.

I managed to hack all but two of the cans (two Data site cans) and ended up with a little over $175 million ISK in the hold and found a  3-run Dark Blood Large Beam Laser Battery BPC – not one of the epic BPC’s but it’s the first Faction BPC I’ve found and it got me pretty excited!

I also stumbled upon my first few Drone Data Sites and scored a number of ‘Augmented’ & ‘Integrated’ Drone BPC’s.

Vart Hitta

I’ve been on an investigation into Drone Region Data Sites and have found some decent information… this is a copy and paste of a Forum Post that was brought to my attention. Apparently this information was current from just before Phoebe, I’m not sure if anything has really changed in the Drone Region Data Sites post-Phoebe?

“I was actually going to make a topic about the drone region data sites, since they are quite a bit different than the rest of New Eden. I ended up not posting it yet, simply because of the upcoming changes to Data sites in Phoebe. However, since people are asking questions… here’s a quick summary of what I found:

Each region of drone space only drops one race’s particular set of drone BPCs.

Malpais – Caldari
Oasa – Caldari
Kalevala Expanse – Minmatar
Etherium Reach – Gallente
Cobalt Edge – Amarr
Outer Passage – Amarr
Perrigen Falls – Gallente
The Spire – Minmatar

I did roughly 100 sites over the course of 3 weeks, and this held up.

Cans typically drop drone parts and Integrated BPCs.

Etherium Reach was the only region I found Augmented BPC’s in. I ended up with 2 Hammerhead and 2 Hobgoblin total. The reason I bring this up, is because drone data sites are the only ones to escalate. There’s a video link on Reddit of some guy escalating a site, and ending up with a couple bil worth of Augmented BPC’s (similar to the poster above). I unfortunately didn’t know about this until I was almost done researching, so I never actually had a site do this. The important piece of info to take away from this, is that Etherium Reach data sites seem to be the only ones to drop Aug BPCs without an escalation. All the sites I did in the other regions never dropped any. I originally went out to the drone regions to score a couple Aug Valkryie BPCs to use with my Gila (wanted to try them out after the drone changes).. if you’ve checked the market lately, only Aug Hammerhead and Hobgoblins are available.

My guess is that the loot drops for Aug BPCs aren’t working properly. Either Aug BPCs are only supposed to drop from the escalations, and Etherium Reach is borked… or they are supposed to drop everywhere, and only Etherium Reach is working properly. The 4 BPCs I found were 10 run only, the ones from escalations seem to be much higher runs.

The data sites contain 3 cans. Two High Security Containment Facilities, and one Research and Development Lab. The Lab can is the one that can cause the escalation. I’m guessing the reason most people don’t know this, is because the Lab can is usually empty. I say usually, because out of the ~100 sites, two of them actually had loot in them. Both had one Integrated BPC each. Nothing else. If you do a search on the forums, most people say that the Lab cans are always empty, and just don’t hack them.

My goal was to post a topic about this, and see if anyone could fill in any blanks or mistakes I may have made. Once that was done, I wanted to submit the info to the Wiki, since there’s basically zero info on there about Drone region data sites. Of course, all this could change with Phoebe… so we will see what happens.

EDIT: And yes, rats do spawn if you fail a hack. I never failed any of the Facility cans, so I’m not sure if they spawn rats too. But the Lab can absolutely does spawn rats when you fail it. It’s also significantly harder to hack than the other two, having a “red” core. The spawns were always two drone frigates, at least for me.”

Here is the original post and topic, for complete context – https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=5140007#post5140007

Most recommendations I’m getting are to avoid Drone Regions for exploration altogether because of the lack of sites and the difficult terrain, was told to expect lots and lots of bubbles, aggressive locals, long warp distances, and gates out of D-scan range – I think I’ll take my chances though, I’m having fun with it.
