I guess one of our fellas missed the Wardec notification and took a nasty loss that will likely have The Marmite Collective interested in extending the war a week or two.

An extra long war will suck but it will mainly hit our supply/logistics crew who will have to modify their operations to keep our staging area supplied which could mean some disruption to our general line members if ships, ammo, etc… aren’t getting brought in on the regular. But it’s usually not a huge deal, the crew somehow seem to keep the supply line running efficiently.

What will we do while under the Wardec and staying away from High-Sec space? Honestly keeping busy is not often an issue for us, there is almost always a few fellas out looking for trouble for the Alliance, there are numerous Alliance operations run every week, in .FRAG we run some Corporation operations to keep our things running, you can do some PI, there are ADMs to keep up so ratting and mining are always a welcome activity and of course you can go off solo and look for some content too.

For those times when Alliance/Corp activities are slow I’ve been thinking about getting back into some drag bubble camping and have been exploring the idea of using a cloaky Force Recon Ship for the job – something like the Rapier below would be a nice boat to engage pretty much any hull Destroyer down and a number of the Cruiser sized hulls.

[Rapier, Aloysius]
Ballistic Control System II
Damage Control II
Nanofiber Internal Structure II
Ballistic Control System II

50MN Cold-Gas Enduring Microwarpdrive
Large Shield Extender II
Large Shield Extender II
Stasis Webifier II
Stasis Webifier II
Warp Disruptor II

Covert Ops Cloaking Device II
Rapid Light Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Mjolnir Light Missile
Rapid Light Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Mjolnir Light Missile
Rapid Light Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Mjolnir Light Missile

Medium Bay Loading Accelerator II
Medium Core Defense Field Extender II

Acolyte II x5

Rapier - Aloysius

With the cloak you should be able to pick your fights well by just staying hidden for any engagements that you don’t want to take. She has no scram but the long point and double webs should hold down your target solidly and give you the ability to dictate your engagement range. She is not cap stable so pulsing the MWD and some deft piloting will be key to keeping your distance. If you are a particularly good pilot or simply ‘space rich’ you could bling out the webs and disruptor which would extend your point range to 30km and your webs out to 60km, that would give you a little buffer for keeping range.

I’m neither a particularly good pilot or ‘space rich’ so will stick with the T2 modules and see how it goes 🙂

We’ve got another Wardec upon us, this time from The Marmite Collective, they are a fairly efficient group of High-Sec Mercs that primarily operate near the Trade Hubs. Unfortunately for them FEIGN doesn’t spend much time in High-Sec so it’s highly likely that this one won’t last too long, unless they’ve been hired to Wardec us then it’ll last as long as the contract is in place.

I guess we’ll see but regardless there are some super simple rules to follow while under a Wardec that make them really easy to deal with:

  1. Stop going to High-Sec, this isn’t hard at all.
  2. Use out of alliance alts for your High-Sec needs.  No really stop going to High-Sec.
  3. If you absolutely have to go to High-Sec avoid Trade Hubs and pipe systems.
  4. If you absolutely have to go to High-Sec use an Interceptor or Covops.
  5. If you mission or mine or haul in High-Sec while at War, then you have failed at all 4 rules above and will likely lose your ship.

So pretty much life as normal for most of us in FEIGN.

I’m not really hiding but with our latest Wardec – The Marmite Collective vs The CORVOS – I’m spending very little time in High-Sec. As a result my killboards are seeing some action and my Null-Sec Inty Explorer has been seeing some use.

Haven’t quite yet delved big into the Null-Sec ratting/missioning, will need to get a few more things set up before I see how that goes.

For the past couple of weeks we had been under a Wardec from The Consolidated Navy, a pretty small twelve to fifteen man Corporation, and while they had gotten a few cheap kills against us they did not have much luck as most of our Alliance is out in Null-Sec.

On the other hand I got some luck while I was perusing their killboard stats and noticed that they had been hitting some POCOs. I decided to go for a little Recon roam and look for them and find them I did… so I went ahead and shot one to send a little message Consolidated Navy’s way – that Wardec was ended the very next day.

The CORVOS are currently under a Wardec from a smaller Corporation, The Consolidated Navy. They are pretty active in the Metropolis and Heimatar regions  and are likely just looking for easy High-Sec targets to pop. Wardecs definitely take time away from my High-Sec exploration roams but that time then transitions into more time out in Null-Sec which has netted me some nice scores over the past week or so plus a good steady stream of salvage materials.

I’ve been hoarding up all the salvage materials I’ve found through my Relic/Data Site exploration and have a pretty good pile of stuff – I will soon be looking into consolidating that hoard into one location and then get it on the market and get some ISK rolling in.

Will just have to wait until we’re clear of Wardecs and not take any stupid chances…

Wardecs galore!

We’ve taken a beating over the last week or so and of course others have taken notice so we are now a delicious target for the High-Sec Wardec crowd… which for me means it’s time to go hang out in Low and Null-Sec while this all plays out.

I’ve decided to delve back into some exploration and try my hand at finding some more Drone Data sites and I was successful! Rolled through a half-dozen low traffic Drone systems the other day and popped two Drone Data sites and manage to score six ‘Integrated’ Drone BPC’s and with looking at the Blueprint Calculator there appears to be some decent ISK to be made from them!

The short-term plan will be to get out for some more exploration and keep a low profile while the Alliance hopefully gets through these Wardecs.

Fractured Glory joined the ranks of The CORVOS Alliance a few days ago just as their current Wardecs were ending, I think we had maybe 12 to 15 hours under two Wardecs but just as they were about to end our new Alliance got hit with a fresh one with Forsaken Asylum declaring War against us.

I did take a look back at the CR0WZ Wardec history on zKillboard and it looks like they don’t take too many stupid losses, although their recent war with Deadly Fingertips was not pretty and may be the reasoning behind our latest Wardec?

Wardecs are a definite hindrance to any High-sec activity and that really sucks as I had been having a lot of fun, and luck, with my latest obsession of rolling those High-sec Cosmic Anomalies. According to zKill Forsaken Asylum are pretty active in the Metropolis Region with Hek and Uttindar being #1 and #3 in their list of Top Systems for kills in the past week… guess it’s time to move out to some Low-sec/Null-sec activities for a bit and wait out this War.

We are currently under a Wardec and I’m ‘usually’ really good at staying under the radar during Wardecs… but I was screwing around a bit in High-sec the other day, camping a Gate in Uttindar with a Gnosis trying to catch some pod gankers, when I saw a Deadly Fingertips pilot come up in Local. He came from the far Gate and there was just one so I waited at the Hek gate for him to land and see what he was flying, turned out to be a Confessor – I jumped into Hek and immediately warped to a safe – there were three more Deadly Fingertips pilots in Hek already and they must have had Combat Probes out cause it took less than a minute and the Confessor pilot was on Grid with me and I was caught.

This is what I get for screwing around in High-sec in a slow, uncloaky ship when we’re under Wardec!

Jita Stǫðva

I was out wandering yesterday afternoon looking to find some CONCORD action in Naglfar – RAGE™ and my route had me jumping through Jita. I jumped into Perimeter, one system before Jita, and held cloak while I checked local. It was busy but I didn’t see anyone flashing with a Criminal or Suspect Flag and there was only one war target in system, Althur Kruw, so I hit the warp to zero towards the Jita Gate and hit my cloak on the way in. As I came out of warp I could see the Gate was busy but didn’t really think anything of it. As I neared the Gate I started de-cloaking and then I started spamming the jump button and then this appeared…

“Officials have closed the starGates to Jita due to heavy congestion. Travelers are advised to seek alternate routes.”

This was not something I had seen before and it took me a few seconds to be fully cognizant of what it meant. Unfortunately by the time I read the message and started to look for a spot to warp away to Mr.Kruw had me locked up and pointed.

My initial reaction was to run away so I aligned and overheated my prop mod but I was running with an Afterburner and it just wasn’t enough speed to get me out of range so I targeted him back and aggressed but it was too late. I had waited too long and I got popped – Hound (Stealth Bomber) & Capsule – Genolution ‘Auroral’ 197-variant.

In hindsight with the fit I was flying my initial reaction of ‘Run!’ was misguided, what I should have done was aggressed right away. If I had both the ECM – Ion Field Projector II on him I likely could have disrupted his targeting and escaped.

Yet again… “This is EVE ~ Shipwrecks happen!

It appears as though we’ve caught the attention of  The Pursuit of Happiness and have been hit with another Wardec. We have already taken our first loss

I’ve been spending a lot of time in High-Sec lately but I’ve not been doing any missioning, I’ve been pretty exclusively flying a cloaky ship so I’m not overly concerned with the Wardec but I am worried about my Alliance mates. Some of them are permanent High-Sec residents and this will definitely hinder their operations and fun.

Hopefully they will heed the pretty simple Wardec SOP and we can get back to ‘normal’ gaming after a week.
