Fitting a ship out in EVE is much like a jigsaw puzzle and not like one of those beginner 500 piece jigsaw puzzles but much more like a 5000+ piece ultra extreme tremendously large puzzle that can take up an entire room during assembly.
I have been extremely fortunate to have some wonderful mentors in EVE that help me with these fitting puzzles but this isn’t the case for the majority of EVE players or sometimes for me… those mentors aren’t always available to ask advice from.
There are a number of posts out there about ship fitting, below are a few that I’ve found helpful:
- New player ship fitting guide
- Fitting ships
- Fitting Guidelines
- Barnsy’s Newbie Ship Fitting Guide
- Barnsy’s Newbie Fitting Guide: PvE
- Barnsy’s Newbie Fitting Guide: PvP
Ship fitting is a skill onto itself, there are so many ships and so many modules and so many things you can do, the permutations are nearly endless – the very first step though is to decide what it is you need a ship for; mining, transport, PvP, PvE, travel, exploration, etc… it may seem silly but it is when I’m looking at things like this that I truly grasp how big a sandbox EVE actually is!
