My current short term skill goal is to get my Light Missles and Missle Launcher Operation skills to Level 5 and then train a few levels of Light Missle Specialization which should take up the next couple of weeks.

After that it’ll be time for a neural remapping to enhance my Memory and Perception attributes and train up some Drone skills. My Drones skills are fairly anemic at this point and need some serious attention put towards them for me to be able to deploy drones in any effective way.

The goal will be to get, at minimum, Light Drone Operation to Level V, a few of the drone support skills to Level IV and all of the Racial Drone Specialization skills to at least Level III.

For the next few weeks I’ll be concentrating on training up some weapon system skills in Gunnery and Missiles. I will be focused on getting the following skills to Level 5:

  • Medium Projectile Turret
  • Missile Launcher Operation
  • Light Missiles
  • Rockets

I will follow up those skills with their appropriate Specialization Skills to at least Level 3, possibly Level 4 and then move on to some of the other Gunnery and Missile support skills and get a few of them to Level 4 before remapping and moving on to Drones. Well… before I remap I will wait for the Svipul to be released and get the Tactical Destroyer skill in too!

I need a lot of work on my Drone skills, I’d like to have the option of flying at least a couple different T2 drone variants which will open up a ton more PvE and PvP fitting options with my ships.

I’ve been looking at some more fitting options for the Sabre and the fit below I’m naming “Orbweaver”

To fly it as fitted below I’ll either need to skill up Advanced Weapon Upgrades to V or if I want to fly it right away invest in a Inherent Implants ‘Squire’ Power Grid Management EG-604 to get the bonus to the power grid output of the ship, it’s a tight fit with max skills. With the cost of the EG-604 running around 100mil ISK I’ll likely wait to fit it like below until I get the AWU training in. In the short term I can meta 4 the MSE II and make it work with a EG-601 which is much more affordable or keep the MSE II and swap out one of the rigs for an Ancillary Current Router I. Will have to run those options by the RL brother, he’s a bit of a fitting wiz, and see what he thinks?

One week to go until the christening of Dusky Slug!

Training time should work out well for her to be un-docked just in time for the weekend and hopefully her first Null-Sec roam with some Corp/Alliance mates. It would be nice to get some practice in her while with a Fleet and get some mentoring from a few of the fellas who’ve flown Interdictors before.

But if I can’t get a Fleet up I will likely take her out on a solo tour… fit her out with a Cloaking Device and camp some Gates looking for action – will just need to be a little more picky and careful with my engagements.

I finished my focus on Shield Skills on the weekend, got them all (other than the Capital skills) to Level IV and have used one of my bonus neural remappings to enhance my Perception and Willpower attributes to maximize the rate of Spaceship Command and Gunnery skills training. My next target is to get into the Sabre and with how I’ve got my plan set up I’ll be sitting in one within twelve days regardless of which Clone I’m in, I’ve got one skill in the queue, Spaceship Command V, that is not directly necessary for the Sabre but is one of those skills that effects every ship that you fly so is well worth the extra couple of days that it’ll take to get into Dusky Slug.

With the latest release, Proteus, Recon Ships got a re-balance and while not the best of the bunch the Huginn and Rapier are looking very appealing to get in to. If I were to start training today it would take me just over a month to get into the pilot seat of a Minmatar Recon Ship but as fun as that sounds I won’t be switching up my training queue just now – I’ve got a progression plan and I’ll be sticking to it.

I am looking forward to a few months down the road, after I put some time in training the support and gunnery skills, when I can be somewhat adept at piloting a Recon Ship and the other Cruiser sized hulls.

Shortly after returning to New Eden I had the opportunity to join in with my RL brother on a Gate Camp with the Notorious Legion crew that was being FC’d by their CEO Starshipman. I had a ton of fun and have been itching to do it again but sadly the occasion hasn’t presented itself since then.

Consequently I’ve taken action to remedy that itch and have trained up my Anchoring and Propulsion Jamming skills so that I can set up my own Mobile Warp Disruptors and have been doing my homework on how to set up Gate Camps.

My next step will be some research on DOTLAN EveMaps to pick a good location and then either head out solo or get some Alliance mates on board for the fun.

I’m game to go it solo. It would be a clear way to get some PvP action but the drawback will be that depending on which ship I’m in I’ll have to be heedful about the engagements I take on and with me still not intimately knowledgeable with all the ships types in EVE I reckon that I’d be very cautious and ultimately lose out on some fights.

Either solo or with a Fleet I’m eager to get out there and Bubble!

I’ve been putting some thought in to progression principle and how it applies towards the skills I need to pilot the ships I’d like to fly.

As far as ship progression goes, below is the list of the ships in the order I’d like to train into them. It has been pretty well thought out in terms of progression from ship to ship what I’ll really need to work on are all the other skills – Support Skills, Gunnery Skills, Missle Skills, Drone Skills –  that will make each ship easier to fit out and efficient in their roles:

  1. Interdictor – Sabre
  2. Tactical Destroyers – TBA!!!
