I guess one of our fellas missed the Wardec notification and took a nasty loss that will likely have The Marmite Collective interested in extending the war a week or two.

An extra long war will suck but it will mainly hit our supply/logistics crew who will have to modify their operations to keep our staging area supplied which could mean some disruption to our general line members if ships, ammo, etc… aren’t getting brought in on the regular. But it’s usually not a huge deal, the crew somehow seem to keep the supply line running efficiently.

What will we do while under the Wardec and staying away from High-Sec space? Honestly keeping busy is not often an issue for us, there is almost always a few fellas out looking for trouble for the Alliance, there are numerous Alliance operations run every week, in .FRAG we run some Corporation operations to keep our things running, you can do some PI, there are ADMs to keep up so ratting and mining are always a welcome activity and of course you can go off solo and look for some content too.

For those times when Alliance/Corp activities are slow I’ve been thinking about getting back into some drag bubble camping and have been exploring the idea of using a cloaky Force Recon Ship for the job – something like the Rapier below would be a nice boat to engage pretty much any hull Destroyer down and a number of the Cruiser sized hulls.

Rapier - Aloysius

With the cloak you should be able to pick your fights well by just staying hidden for any engagements that you don’t want to take. She has no scram but the long point and double webs should hold down your target solidly and give you the ability to dictate your engagement range. She is not cap stable so pulsing the MWD and some deft piloting will be key to keeping your distance. If you are a particularly good pilot or simply ‘space rich’ you could bling out the webs and disruptor which would extend your point range to 30km and your webs out to 60km, that would give you a little buffer for keeping range.

I’m neither a particularly good pilot or ‘space rich’ so will stick with the T2 modules and see how it goes 🙂

I’m currently training towards Minmatar Cruiser V and with that in mind I’ve been looking at all T2 Cruiser hulls seeing what looks interesting to fly. These are the six Minmatar T2 Cruiser hulls:

I’ll be able to get into five of those six right after training up Minmatar Cruiser V. The Scimitar will take awhile longer, I’m not sure my Signature Analysis and/or Long Range Targeting skills are quite up to snuff for it. To field the Rapier as I’d like to fly her, as a Black-Ops Scout, will also take some extra training but in the meantime I will be able to fit her out for small shield gang fleets which should be a ton of fun. The Vagabond, Broadsword and Huginn excite me and I’m looking forward to sitting in them.

Of the five I can get into quickly the only one that doesn’t excite me much is the Muninn – I’ve not seen much on the hull in any of the blogs or forums I’ve read and I can’t honestly remember seeing one in game at any point. Does anyone out there fly one? How do you fit it out? What do you use it for?

After bumping up my Drone skills my next goal will be to get into Recon Ships, specifically the Minmatar Force Recon Ship the Rapier and the Minmatar Combat Recon Ship the Huginn. These hulls will lean well into my proclivity towards ‘Black Operations‘.

After the Recon Ships I’ll get into the Heavy Interdiction Cruiser and then work my way towards the Heavy Assault Cruiser.

Now if only we could fast forward a few weeks…

With the latest release, Proteus, Recon Ships got a re-balance and while not the best of the bunch the Huginn and Rapier are looking very appealing to get in to. If I were to start training today it would take me just over a month to get into the pilot seat of a Minmatar Recon Ship but as fun as that sounds I won’t be switching up my training queue just now – I’ve got a progression plan and I’ll be sticking to it.

I am looking forward to a few months down the road, after I put some time in training the support and gunnery skills, when I can be somewhat adept at piloting a Recon Ship and the other Cruiser sized hulls.
