Frjáls Farmaðr – Caldari II

Force multiplication, in military usage, refers to an attribute or a combination of attributes that dramatically increases the effectiveness of an item or group, giving a given number of troops or weapons the ability to accomplish greater things than without. So we take a max-skilled Caldari Alpha Clone and throw them in a Blackbird and add one, two or three of them to our Alpha Toon Caracal fleet supported by our Alpha Toon Scythe logi.

Blackbird - Alpha Toon ECM

One of the big issues with the Blackbird in that fleet is it’s speed, it’s significantly slower than the Caracal and Scythe, but if you’re pilots are smart they’ll stick themselves on the far side of your Logistics Wing and stay aligned to a bounce warping out when they get primaried.

Frjáls Farmaðr – Caldari

In my messing with EFT I’ve been playing around with a max-skilled Caldari Alpha toon and it looks like they will have the skills to pilot a decently fit Caracal.

You can mess around a lot with the Caracal but this is a pretty standard small gang fit. For bigger fleets you could pull off the point and replace it with a resist and maybe pull the nano and add a third BCS.

Playing around with the idea of Force Nomad being a project to help out new players and took some time to build a ‘Cadet’ ship for each race based around that races starting skills. If you’re familiar with EFT and are interested here are the character files I’m working with, one for each race:

And here are the ships. A brand new toon of the appropriate race can jump right into one of these and join a fleet operation immediately although new characters run into fitting issues pretty quick so you won’t see many/any full weapons racks.

You may have noticed that other than the Caldari hull all the boats are that races Fast Attack Frigate, their T1 Interceptors. The Caldari Fast Attack Frigate is the Condor which is a Light Missile/Rocket boat and a fresh out of the box brand new character has no Light Missile/Rocket skills so I went with the Merlin which is bonused for Small Hybrid Turrets and a new Caldari character can jump right into it without any further training needed.

It’s likely that the new guy will get blown up pretty quick as these are squishy but they are also inexpensive and with just a few pointers and maybe a couple minutes of training that new pilot should be getting shot at and having fun in no time!

Each race has one – The T1 Tackle Frigate. We’ve got the Executioner for Amarr, the Condor for Caldari, the Atron for Gallente and the Slasher for Minmatar. Each hull has an identical Role Bonus with an 80% reduction in Propulsion Jamming systems activation cost and then individual bonuses towards their specific weapon systems,

Amarr Executioner Frigate bonuses (per skill level):
♦ 10% reduction in Small Energy Turret activation cost
♦ 5% bonus to Small Energy Turret damage

Caldari Condor Frigate bonuses (per skill level):
♦ 10% bonus to kinetic Light Missile and Rocket damage

Gallente Atron Frigate bonuses (per skill level):
♦ 10% bonus to Small Hybrid Turret falloff
♦ 5% bonus to Small Hybrid Turret damage

Minmatar Slasher Frigate skill bonus per level:
♦ 5% bonus to Small Projectile Turret damage
♦ 7.5% bonus to Small Projectile Turret tracking speed

Truthfully the DPS on these hulls, even with maxed out skills and fully fitted with T2 mods, is fairly anemic… but in saying that they are not there to kill the target, they are there to hold the target on grid long enough for the big DPS ships to engage. The school of thought I’ve been taught to follow is to use what DPS they do have to clear off some drones if possible.

There are a few typical fits for each hull, you can see them on their UniWiki pages linked above, but I enjoy outside of the box thinking and after seeing a post on http://www.reddit.com/r/fittings/ will be giving this Atron a try:
