Have been playing around theorycrafting with the Gila as another High-Sec exploration ship to mess around in. Venomous Pygmy is the fit I’ve come up with, she’s a tight one and will need an Implant or some Faction Modules to get the CPU within limits but with the proper tank and if flown well she should be able to handle the 5/10 DED sites. As shown she’s fit to run Angel sites, swap out the Deflection Field and Drones as necessary for the other Pirate Factions.

Just swap two of your LSE for meta4s and you’re good to go and can even upgrade the Drone Link Augmentor to a Tech2!

That looks solid! What are your thoughts on swapping the DCU out for a fourth DDA or an Omnidirectional Tracking Enhancer? Would the OTE get the medium drones to apply damage any faster/better?

Replacing the DCU with another DDA would result in loosing a bit more than 10k EHP for like 35 additional DPS according to pyfa. That might be worth it, tank’s strong enough for hisec exploration anyway.
So far my drones aren’t missing frequently, so I feel an OTE is not necessary. Anyway it surely wouldn’t hurt to carry one in cargo to swap it in for frig heavy sites. As soon as I get to try that, I’ll let you know the outcome 🙂
Another idea might be to swap the last LSE II for a Drone Navigation Computer to clear large sites faster. Especially if you’re using Hammerheads or Vespas, which benefit greatly from the speed buff. Again you’d give up about 12k of EHP.
