“Leadership is the sum of those qualities of intellect, human understanding, and moral character that enables a person to inspire and control a group of people successfully.” ~ Lieutenant General John A. Lejeune
Leaders come in all shapes and sizes and with all forms of leadership styles. My basis for leadership theory and style comes from the USMC. The basics were taught in Bootcamp, followed up with practical application in the Fleet and further drilled in to me through professional training and attending NCO School. RP 0103 – Principles of Marine Corps Leadership
How does this all apply to EVE? Well… for the most part it doesn’t, from my short time in EVE and in my experience there are not many CEO’s or Alliance Leaders that exemplify this style of Leadership. But in saying that I do need to express that I have been very fortunate to be a member of a Corporation that has solid Leaders who embody many of the traits and principles outlined above – unfortunately that doesn’t always extend to the higher levels in my Chain of Command.
