Ammo, ammo, ammo…

I primarily fly Minmatar ships which primarily fit projectile turrets, autocannons and artillery, and these turrets use projectile ammo of which there is a fairly wide selection to load. Choosing what ammo to use is definitely situational and it can be be somewhat confusing. There are good guides and info out there for projectile ammo and ammo selection but as I was researching it anyways I thought that putting all the info down into a post for myself would be a good way to commit the data to memory. Big sheet below with some details but the basic takeaway from the research is that there are three or four main types of ammo to have for any PvP engagement – Phased Plasma, Fusion and EMP then Barrage for autocannons and Tremor for artillery. Obviously Faction ammo is the way to go for PvP, in general Arch Angel ammunition does 10% more damage than standard ammo, Republic Fleet does 15% more and Domination does 20% more. On ‘paper’ Hail does the most DPS but I’m not sure how true that is when you factor in the tracking modifier, but maybe it’s better now after the changes to autocannons in Tiamat?
